Shaquille Kamau is a highly qualified and experienced member of the Unique Landscapes team. With a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Horticulture and Landscape Technology, Shaquille brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their work.

Shaquille has a diverse range of work experience in the field of landscape architecture. Currently also serving as the Director at Upeo Design Studio, a private practice, they are responsible for providing landscape design consultation and overseeing implementation.

He is also a Member of Architects Association of Kenya, Landscape Chapter.

In previous roles at Eco-Ethics & Development Limited, Mika Landscapers, and Evergreen Landscapes, Shaquille gained valuable experience in design consulting, project supervision, and implementation of landscape projects. They have successfully worked on projects such as Sultan Palace in Kilifi and Methodist Resort in Nairobi.

Shaquille’s passion for the field is evident in their active participation in training, seminars, and conferences.

They have attended various workshops and seminars, including the Design for Construction & Sustainability Conference, Landscape Architecture: Beyond Beautification workshop, Emergent Interaction Workshop, and Opportunities for integrated inclusive infrastructure replication webinar. These engagements have broadened their understanding of sustainable practices and emerging trends in the industry.

Proficient in software such as ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Autodesk 3DS Max, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Lumion, Rhino + Grasshopper, and SketchUp, Shaquille leverages technology to enhance their design capabilities and deliver high-quality results.

Shaquille’s dedication to continuous learning is evident through their involvement in leadership training programs and their commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.

With strong communication skills in English and Swahili, Shaquille effectively collaborates with team members, clients, and stakeholders. They demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to excellence in all their endeavors.
